Woman from Le Mars arrested for death of her child

UPDATE

LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) – Court documents filed earlier this year show there were signs of being hit with an object in the death of a 2-year-old.

The documents submitted indicate that the mother was holding her child in her arms when police and emergency services arrived at the residence and that the child was not breathing.

The child's mother, 27-year-old Sexlyn Tataichy, handed the child over to emergency services, who began resuscitation.

The documents show that emergency responders in the ambulance noticed bruising on the child's arms and stomach, as well as some blood in his nose.

Ultimately, all life-saving measures were unsuccessful and the two-year-old was pronounced dead in hospital.

When the Le Mars police began their investigation, they noticed red marks on the body and numerous scratches of about 15 to 20 centimeters in length, indicating blows with an object.
