2 suspects taken into custody after drug raid in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – Two suspects are in custody following a drug raid in Jackson County.

According to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, on September 23, 2024, a Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputy found a wanted person at a home in the city of Black River Falls.

The person was identified as 34-year-old Jarred Mortenson of Black River Falls.

There was a civil arrest warrant out for Mortenson in Jackson County.

When authorities searched the vehicle with a sniffer dog, they found suspected heroin, marijuana, U.S. currency and a firearm.

The vehicle's passenger, 43-year-old Thomas English of Black River Falls, was arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to resell. English was also arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of a firearm.

Both English and Mortenson were taken to the Jackson County Jail.
