Police were called to a home on Adrian Drive around 3:15 a.m. A criminal complaint says Mata was “out of control” and searching for his drugs. When police arrived, he had locked himself in a bedroom and a standoff ensued.

Prosecutors said officers tried to speak to Mata through the closed door. He said he was “having a bad day” but did not elaborate. He repeatedly refused to come outside when officers ordered him to. There were weapons in the house, but Mata was not believed to have any on him. Ultimately, the Suburban Critical Incident Team was called in to take Mata into custody.

When Mata was searched on the premises of the Muskego Police Station, the complaint stated that Mata was in possession of a clear container of cocaine and a glass tube with white residue.
