Gregory Kranich, teenager arrested in fatal shooting in Lodi

The two suspects were arrested in Jackson.

LODI, Calif. – A man and a teenager are in custody following a fatal shooting early Monday morning in Lodi.

According to Lodi police, it happened just before 5 a.m. in the 100 block of Pine Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man with numerous gunshot wounds. He was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say detectives identified two suspects, 18-year-old Gregory Kranich and an unnamed 17-year-old boy, and located them in Jackson. Investigators executed a search warrant around 3 a.m. Tuesday and the two were arrested.

According to police, Kranich was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of murder and conspiracy. The teenager was taken to the juvenile detention center.

According to investigators, the shooting appears to be related to gang crime and they believe there are no clear suspects yet.
