5 injured in accident on Highway 22 at County Line

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Highway 22 along the Blue Earth-LeSueur County line, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to police, a Chevrolet van, a Honda Civic and a Ford Escape were traveling south on Highway 22 when they collided near County Road 2 shortly after 1:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

According to the accident report, the four people in the Civic: Sitra Kedir Guluma, 21, of Mankato, were taken to St. Mary's in Rochester; Solyana Tibebu Bekele, 20, Mankato, and Nebiyat Temesgen Belay, 21, Mankato, and Ruth Girma Kebede, 20, Mankato, were all taken to Mankato Hospital.

The lone escapee, Sherry Jewel Trullinger, 60, of North Mankato, was taken to St. Peter's Hospital.

Two people in the van apparently suffered no injuries.

The State Patrol was assisted by the Blue Earth and LeSueur County Sheriff's Departments, Mankato and Kasota Fire Departments, Mayo 1, Mayo Ambulance, Rivers Edge Ambulance and North Ambulance.
