Williamsville man killed, toddler seriously injured in nighttime accident in Amherst

AMHERST, NY (WKBW) — Amherst police are looking for witnesses to a fatal crash that also left a toddler seriously injured Monday evening.

On Monday, officers were called to Sheridan Drive and Essjay Road around 9:40 p.m.

Investigators say a Chevy Impala was traveling east on Sheridan Drive when it collided with a Honda CRV that was turning onto Essjay Road.

The driver of the Chevy Impala, a 23-year-old man from Williamsville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda CRV, a 35-year-old man from Amherst, was taken to ECMC and is expected to survive. A three-year-old girl in the car was also seriously injured. She is in critical but stable condition at Oishei Children's Hospital, according to police.

No names have been released yet and no charges have been filed.
