UFC player Paddy Pimblett sets schedule for next fight

Paddy Pimblett sees two possible options for his UFC return date.

Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC) entered the top 15 of the UFC's lightweight rankings in July when he knocked out King Green via first-round submission at UFC 304. For his performance, he received a $200,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

“The Baddy” has his eye on Renato Moicano (19-5-1 MMA, 11-5 UFC), who will face Benoit Saint Denis (13-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) as the headliner at UFC Fight Night 243 (ESPN+) on Saturday at the Accor Arena in Paris.

Pimblett and Moicano have faced each other on numerous occasions and men have expressed interest in fighting each other. While on hand at Cage Warriors 178 this past Saturday in support of his Next Generation MMA teammates, Pimblett gave an update on what's next.

“Right now I have no idea,” Pimblett said in an interview with Cage Warriors. “I think the only card I could possibly fight on is back in Vegas in December, but nothing has been said at the moment. I know Moicano is fighting (this) week, but I can't imagine him coming back early enough in December, so it could be next year, early next year.”

After three contests in 2022, Pimblett has only fought twice since then – a one-sided points victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 296 in December 2023 and the win over Green in July.
