Ronei Harris arrested in murder of BX man whose body parts were found in NYC and Yonkers

A suspected accomplice in the murder of a man whose dismembered body parts were found in the Bronx and Yonkers was arrested Tuesday – as prosecutors released more details about the gruesome crime.

Ronei Harris, 18, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and NYPD officers as she checked out of a motel on the New England Thruway in the Bronx around 4:30 p.m., police and sources said.

Harris faces multiple charges, including murder in connection with the killing of Lutalo Henderson, whose dismembered remains were discovered in a crockpot in a Bronx apartment and in a burning shopping cart in Yonkers, police said.

The Bronx resident's arrest came days after former convict Muhammad Aadil was arrested by police for the same gruesome murder.

Aadil, 40, and Harris are accused of killing Henderson after an argument broke out between Aadil and the 46-year-old victim in their shared Bronx home, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The alleged killers cut off Henderson's legs below the knees, his hands and even removed his jaw, prosecutors said. His upper body was wrapped in garbage bags.

“The defendants are alleged to have killed and mutilated a man and then transported some of the remains in a shopping cart on a Metro-North train to Yonkers, where they burned the cart,” Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark said in a statement. “This was brutal disregard for a human being.”

Aadil was arraigned on Monday on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and concealing a human corpse, the Bronx District Attorney's Office said.

Harris was charged with murder, manslaughter, concealing a human corpse, illegal possession of a weapon and illegal possession of a controlled substance, the New York Police Department said.

During a search of the house in the Bronx where the body parts were found, a weapon and drugs were found, police said.

Prosecutors said charges against Harris are expected to be filed at a later date.

Police did not provide any information about the relationship between the two murder suspects.

Aadil was remanded in custody by Bronx Supreme Court Judge Brenda Rivera. His next court date is December 19.
