New video shows fight before deadly shooting on University of Arizona campus

TUCSON, Arizona (13 News) – Authorities continue to search for the man who shot and killed a Pima Community College student on the University of Arizona campus late Sunday, Sept. 22.

A new video shows the struggle between the suspect and his victim, Minhaj Jamshidi, shortly before the shooting.

13 News has exclusive video of the brawl that led to a fatal shooting on the University of Arizona campus late Sunday.

The University of Arizona Police Department said officers were Volleyball courts north of Sonora Residence Hall on Sunday around 11 p.m..

The video shows two men pushing and hitting each other.

One of them was wearing a white T-shirt, just like the one police described the suspect wearing. The fight in the video only lasts about 10 seconds, but one person in the video is seen being restrained after the altercation.

The video ends before a shootout in which Jamshidi is killed.

The search for the suspect continues.

The suspect was described as a Middle Eastern or Latin American man with collar-length, dark, curly hair and facial hair. The 6-foot-tall suspect is 19 to 25 years old and was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and tan shorts. Witnesses said he had a black handgun on him.

The UAPD said it would not release any new information about the investigation, but that it was active.
