LCSO finds human remains on Woodville property, owner arrested on other charges

WOODVILLE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Leon County woman is facing numerous charges and could face more charges after police found human remains on her property in Woodville, according to a news release from the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

Candace Battaglia, 38, was arrested on charges unrelated to the discovery of the remains on Tuesday, LCSO investigators say.

When detectives searched her property based on a search warrant from the LCSO, they found the remains, the press release said.

According to LCSO, Battaglia was arrested on two counts of child abuse, five counts of animal cruelty and resisting arrest without violence.

“Investigators will continue to thoroughly investigate this case and further charges are expected,” the press release said.
