A Hoover man was arrested Monday on charges of hiring someone to kill his wife and children. Mohammad AH Mohammad is in custody. He owns a plumbing business in Homewood.

According to the FBI, Mohammad is involved in divorce proceedings. In 2021, three protective orders were filed against Mohammad, involving his wife and two of his children. The documents described Mohammad threatening to “lock us in the basement and kill us.”

In 2022, he was charged with first-degree stalking. He was accused of placing tracking devices on family members' cars, which were burned in fires that were deemed “suspicious.”

A cooperating witness was interviewed by the FBI. He told agents that Mohammad was looking for someone to “take care of” his family and offered to pay for it.

An undercover FBI agent posed as a hit man and met with Mohammad, according to federal court documents. The indictment says Mohammad arranged for the murder of his wife in exchange for $20,000 and $5,000 for each of his six children.
