Joey Bada$$ will be named Artist in Residence at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts this fall


Joey Bada$$ has been named Artist in Residence at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts for fall 2024, making him the youngest musician ever to hold the position.

He was tasked with leading master classes and lectures and moderating question-and-answer sessions on topics such as songwriting, the music publishing business, and film and television.

“I am honored and humbled to have been invited to be an artist-in-residence at NYU's Clive Davis Institute,” Joey says in a statement. “I look forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge with the students and am sure I will learn a lot from them as well. I am committed to building community across all sectors and this is another beautiful step on that journey.”

He joins former AIRS, including Pharrell Williams, Dawn Richard And Swizz Beatzand another NYU student eve.

She began a year-long engagement as a 2024-25 Scholar-in-Residence at NYU's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, during which she will attend meetings, visit classrooms, and speak with students and staff about her career and the music industry.

“I want people to understand who I am as a person outside of music,” says Eve. “I'm looking forward to getting to know the community and meeting with students in an intimate setting so they can ask me anything they want to know.”
