Falcon 9 launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base scheduled for Tuesday evening

VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. — A Falcon 9 launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base carrying 20 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 24, beginning at 9:01 p.m.

Further starting opportunities will be available on Wednesday, September 25th, from 8:37 p.m.

According to SpaceX, 13 of these Starlink satellites will have direct-to-cell capabilities that can be used on unmodified cell phones, as shown in the image below.

After the first stage separation, the mission’s Falcon 9 booster will return to Earth and land on the Of course I still love you (see picture below), an autonomous drone ship waiting in the Pacific.

A live webcast of the launch will begin five minutes before liftoff and can be found here.

This will be the tenth mission for the Falcon 9 on this mission, which previously launched the following missions: NASA Crew-7, CRS-29, NROL-186, EarthCARE, Transporter-10, PACE and three Starlink missions.
