Police say DUI suspect arrested after fatal hit-and-run accident in Selma

SELMA, Calif. (KFSN) – A suspect was arrested for drunk driving following a fatal hit-and-run accident in Selma last week.

The accident occurred shortly before 8:15 p.m. in the area of ​​Floral Avenue and Wright Street.

According to Selma Police, Robert Leeper was found on the street with life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

According to officials, the driver, later identified as 39-year-old Roberto Ramos Cisneros, drove away after the accident.

During the investigation, the police managed to find and arrest Cisneros.

Cisneros is charged with murder, personal injury by driving under the influence of alcohol and hit and run.

Investigators say Cisneros works for the city of Selma's building department.

Cisneros had finished work at the time of the accident and was in his private vehicle.

He is expected in court on Wednesday.
