The suspect fled on foot but was quickly arrested

A woman was arrested after she allegedly attempted to ram a police officer's vehicle and fled the scene on foot in a hit-and-run accident in Santa Monica.

The incident occurred in the 2000 block of Montana Avenue when an officer noticed a vehicle speeding in the area. When the suspect noticed the police presence, he turned around and struck the officer's vehicle in his attempt to flee. The pursuit continued to the 800 block of 16th Street, where the suspect reportedly attempted to collide with the officer's vehicle again before crashing into a street tree.

The suspect then fled on foot but was quickly arrested by police officers. She was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol and hit and run.
