LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – A Lincoln man was arrested Monday in connection with two construction thefts.

Andrew Ferrell, 36, is charged with burglary, theft and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

According to court documents, Ferrell stole several items from a construction site near Southwest 32nd Street and West O Street on September 2.

According to police, video footage shows Ferrell driving to the construction site several times and loading items into his car.

At about 1:30 a.m. the next day, Ferrell went to a construction company about a mile away near the intersection of South Coddington Avenue and West O, according to an affidavit.

He found a key in a box outside the building and unlocked the door, the affidavit states.

Ferrell then stole two sets of car keys and drove away in the company's 2024 Chevrolet Silverado, police said.

A large water tank and numerous tools were in the bed of the pickup truck. Police estimated the total value of the stolen items at $55,000.

Officers said they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Ferrell's car.

On Tuesday, a judge set Ferrell's bail at $15,000.

His next court date is scheduled for October 3.
