18-year-old arrested and charged with murder of teenager in Taunton, Massachusetts

An 18-year-old Massachusetts man was arrested in Medford Tuesday night and is charged with murder in connection with the death of 17-year-old Khamitri Cole of Brockton, said Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III. Kareem Gendraw, whose last known address was in Randolph, was arrested Tuesday night by Massachusetts State Police officers. Gendraw is charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm. He will be arraigned Wednesday in Taunton District Court. Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to District Attorney Quinn's office, as well as Taunton Police and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating. The murder occurred last Friday in the Town of Taunton. Police were called to 351 Lothrop St. at 12:25 a.m. after receiving a 911 call that a person had been shot in a mobile home at that address. Cole was pronounced dead at the scene. An 18-year-old Holyoke man was also shot. He drove himself to the hospital to receive treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses said the shooting occurred during a late-night party. Brockton Public Schools said last week that Cole had been a student until about a year ago but is not currently enrolled in the school system.

Kareem Gendraw, whose last known address was in Randolph, was taken into custody by members of the Massachusetts State Police on Tuesday evening.

Gendraw is charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm. He will be arraigned in Taunton District Court on Wednesday.

Detectives from the Massachusetts State Police assigned to District Attorney Quinn's office, as well as Taunton police and homicide prosecutors are actively investigating

The murder occurred last Friday in the town of Taunton.
