According to police, the victim accidentally cut Middleton off while driving west on FM 969 on August 28. After both vehicles reached the Dollar General parking lot at 6600 FM 969, the victim got out of her car to talk to Middleton. However, surveillance video shows that after a brief exchange of words, Middleton sped toward the victim in her gold Honda Pilot, striking her and knocking her to the ground.

The victim suffered abrasions and bruises and complained of general pain from the collision. He called 911 after the incident and provided authorities with the vehicle's license plate number, which led to Middleton's identification through motor vehicle records on FaxVIN and Infotracer, as well as on social media.

According to the police report, surveillance camera footage confirmed the victim's statement. It showed Middleton's vehicle approaching him and hitting him without any apparent provocation. It was revealed that Middleton did not inquire about the victim's condition before leaving the scene of the accident.

Middleton is currently in custody awaiting trial.
