3 in hospital, 2 seriously injured in stabbing in Henderson

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to a stabbing incident in Cadence Township.

Police said officers were called to the 1100 block of Ruby Sparrow Street around 5:12 p.m.

According to police, three people were taken to hospital. Two of them are in critical condition, the other is stable.

Henderson Police say the suspect is in custody and there is no active threat to the public.

HPD has asked residents to avoid the area.

FOX5 heard from a man who said he was the boyfriend of one of the stabbing victims. He did not want to go on camera but said his girlfriend, in her 30s, was one of the victims.

We have not received any information about this from the police. The man also did not say how the victims and the knife attacker knew each other.

The streets in the neighborhood were closed for more than five hours while authorities investigated the scene.

Residents like Jennifer had to find another way home. She tells us what was going through her mind when she learned what happened. The military veteran says she wasn't afraid for her safety, but says, “It's still scary and upsetting because lives are at stake and someone may have been lost, we don't know at this point,” Jennifer said. “But again, my prayers go out to the family because this could happen to you or me and this is not something to be taken lightly.”
