Motorcycle crash leaves driver seriously injured on Northeast Extension in Montgomery County

WORCESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPVI) — One person was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on the Northeast Extension in Montgomery County on Tuesday.

In addition, some drivers experienced significant delays while the road was closed.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Northeast Extension (I-476).

According to the state police, the motorcyclist was the only person involved in the accident. The driver was flown to a hospital by rescue helicopter.

No further information was provided regarding the incident.

After the accident, all southbound lanes were closed for about four hours.

The northbound lanes reopened shortly after 6:40 p.m. The southbound lanes reopened around 9:30 p.m.
