Interview: Kate Winslet talks about the struggle to bring “Lee” to the screen

If you are as successful as an actress as Kate WinsletBeing able to complete projects is an implicit good. lee is an example of that, because Winslet really developed it and made sure it actually got made. Reuniting with her Don't forget me! Cameraman Ellen Kuras and getting her on board as director, casting big names, and finding the money, all happened under her watch. Without the Oscar winner, the film wouldn't exist. So when the film was about to be released, I recently had the opportunity to talk to Winslet a little bit over Zoom. Today, you can have that conversation.

In my review of lee Here's what I said about Winslet's performance:

Kate Winslet is the reason to watch this film. She's wanted to do this for years and when it came time to film she was more than ready. The actress exudes energy and intensity that is in keeping with many of her previous performances. Winslet is simply at her best.

Below you can see my conversation with Winslet. We didn't have much time, but her explanation of how she was an important person in the development of the project guided our conversation. Whether it was the script of Liz Hannah and company, Kuras directing, or her co-stars remain during development, the passion that Winslet has for lee is clearly visible. The film is coming out soon. Watch it and you will understand why she has shown so much commitment.
