New Bedford police investigate overnight incident

Police were seen investigating in New Bedford all night and had placed numerous evidence markers on the street. (WLNE)

NEW BEDFORD, Massachusetts (WLNE) – Officials in New Bedford are investigating an overnight incident in the city.

After an investigation began around 11 p.m. last night, officers removed dozens of evidence markers from the intersection of Matthew and Dartmouth Streets.

ABC6 news crews saw the ground littered with bullet casings.

There isn't much confirmed yet from New Bedford police, but our night patrols here have seen several vehicles with bullet holes that police have been inspecting, and emergency responders have also been on scene transporting people away.

ABC6 News is still waiting for more details on the cause of the accident, whether any suspects are in custody and whether there were any injuries.
