Brooklyn food delivery driver arrested for firearm use in New Jersey

WESTFIELD, NJ – Westfield Police Chief Christopher Battiloro announced the arrest of a Brooklyn woman for illegal possession of a firearm following a traffic stop on Sunday.

Westfield Police received a real-time alert from a license plate recognition camera that a wanted vehicle had entered Westfield.

The vehicle was reportedly involved in a shooting that occurred less than 24 hours earlier in Jersey City, and its occupant was believed to be armed.

Williams was reportedly working as a driver for a food delivery service at the time.

During the investigation, officers discovered an empty cartridge case on the floor of the passenger side of the vehicle.

During a further search, a Glock 26 pistol with a single 9 mm Luger cartridge was found in the compartment under the passenger seat.

In addition, additional cartridge cases were found in the vehicle.

Williams was taken to the Westfield Police Department and charged with illegal possession of a weapon, a second-degree felony.
