Murder case still unsolved after 43 years

Dawn Marino

WARWICK – It has been more than four decades since the skeletal remains of Westtown resident Dawn Marino were found in a cistern in the town of Warwick.

The 20-year-old woman was last seen around 1 a.m. on May 16, 1981, in front of the Corner Tavern in Pine Island.

She was reported missing the following day, but it was not until October 31, 1987 – more than six years later – that her remains were found.

For the past 43 years, state police, Warwick City Police and, most recently, the FBI have investigated the woman's murder.

Over the years, numerous tips and interviews have been conducted.

Due to recent developments, State Police are now urging anyone with information about the case to contact the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.

Reports can also be submitted through the State Police tip line at 845-344-5370, the Warwick Police tip line at 845-986-3344 or the FBI tip line at 212-384-1000.
