Willard Miller appeals first-degree murder conviction | KCII Radio – The One You Can Count On

Willard Miller, one of two teens who pleaded guilty to the premeditated murder of Fairfield Spanish teacher Nohema Graber in 2021, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 35 years in July 2023. The decision was made by District Judge Shawn Showers, who said during the more than seven-hour hearing he would have considered a life sentence without parole if state law allowed such a sentence for juveniles. Miller, who is 17, will be eligible for parole in 2058. Miller has appealed to the Iowa Supreme Court to reduce his sentence because he was a minor at the time of the crime. Jeremy Goodale, the other teen, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years. KCII will update you with more information as it becomes official.
