In 2017, adult party game group Cards Against Humanity bought land on the U.S.-Mexico border to damage former President Donald Trump's border wall. Now it's suing over the land after another controversial billionaire allegedly moved in without permission.

Chicago-based publisher of the popular card game Cards Against Humanity LLC filed a $15 million civil lawsuit against Elon Musk's SpaceX on Thursday for alleged trespassing on its property in Cameron County, Texas.

While Cards Against Humanity's land was undeveloped when purchased, the lawsuit alleges SpaceX began encroaching on its property, which is located just three miles from SpaceX's Starbase launch facility. Images in the lawsuit show a construction site and equipment, and the lawsuit states, “SpaceX never asked for permission to use the property, let alone the egregious appropriation of the property for its own profit purposes.”

SpaceX contractors came to the site, the lawsuit said, dumped huge piles of gravel and brought generators to power equipment and lights.

Cards Against Humanity LLC stated in 2017 that the goal of their crowdfunding stunt was to “make building the wall as time-consuming and expensive as possible.”

SpaceX began building in the area in 2014. In July, Musk said on X that he would move SpaceX headquarters from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas, a company development still under construction.

Both Musk and Trump appear in the card game, which is always up to date.

CAH said the lawsuit was in line with the game maker's business philosophy. The lawsuit said CAH's reputation would be damaged among its supporters if Musk's company allowed “essential stealing of CAH's property without remorse or even explanation.”

“CAH's supporters have developed an unprecedented level of loyalty and also expect the company to live up to its reputation as a politically active company – especially in light of the abusive tactics of government and wealthy corporations against ordinary people across the country and around the world,” the lawsuit states.

SpaceX did not respond to CNN's request for comment.
