Sodus man arrested after punching victim and pushing him down stairs during incident

A Sodus man was arrested during an investigation into a domestic incident, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday.

Daniel Sigel, 34, was arrested after officers responded to a report of domestic trouble at a home on Dodd Hill Road on Sept. 22. Authorities allege Sigel was involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when he blocked the victim from entering his home, punched him in the face and pushed him down a flight of stairs. The victim reportedly sustained injuries and the incident occurred in front of an 8-year-old child.

Sigel was charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. His charges were processed at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and later transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he awaits arraignment.

Sigel is scheduled to appear in Sodus Municipal Court at a later date to continue the proceedings.
