Perpetrator of a break-in at Costco in Clovis near the Nevada border arrested

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) – A man suspected of committing a burglary at a Costco in Clovis is in custody and facing multiple charges.

According to police, 26-year-old Donelle Smith, seen on surveillance video, entered the warehouse earlier this month.

Another camera shot shows the suspect smashing the jewelry display case as stunned customers back away from the shattering glass.

Investigators believe he stole jewelry worth $15,000.

The investigation led authorities to Southern California near the Nevada border, where several agencies assisted in the arrest of Smith.

He was returned to Fresno last week and is being held in the Fresno County Jail.
