New York motorcyclist charged with hit-and-run that left child in life-threatening condition


OCEAN CITY, MD — Ocean City Police are asking for the public's help in investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a juvenile pedestrian in critical condition. Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident are asked to contact police.

The incident occurred on September 13 at around 9:34 p.m. at the corner of 12th Street and Philadelphia Avenue. The collision involved a motorcyclist identified as Michael Scot Schneider, 51, of Ballston Spa, New York.

Schneider was arrested following the collision and is currently being held in the Worcester County Jail without bail. Police are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact PFC Panitch via email at [email protected] or call the tip line at 410-520-5136.

  • Daniel Gonzalez found guilty of third-degree murder in North Philadelphia shooting

    PHILADELPHIA, PA — Daniel Gonzalez was convicted this month in the unjustified killing of Seitu Harris. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office announced the sentencing Tuesday. Gonzalez and co-defendant Deonte Davis, who remains at large, shot and killed Harris on April 24, 2023.

    Surveillance video captured Gonzalez and Davis exiting the Girard Avenue subway station on the Broad Street Line. Davis was seen talking with Harris near a Cricket Wireless store at the corner of Watts Street and Girard Avenue.

    During the altercation, both suspects pulled out firearms and opened fire. Harris was shot multiple times and a pedestrian was injured.

    Investigators recovered palm prints from the crime scene and SEPTA footage. They identified the suspects through social media, where Gonzalez was seen wearing a distinctive "Thrasher" hoodie and red sneakers.

    Gonzalez was arrested on May 8, 2023 and convicted by the Honorable Diana Anhalt of third-degree murder and related charges. Sentencing is scheduled for November 1.

  • Car rams school bus and crashes into house in Clarkstown

    CLARKSTOWN, NY — According to local police, a Clarkstown Central School District bus was involved in an accident Tuesday evening after being struck by an SUV at the intersection of Laurel Road and Glenside Drive.

    Clarkstown Police reported that the SUV collided with the bus as it was turning left onto Laurel Road. Preliminary investigation indicates that the SUV was exceeding the speed limit, causing it to veer off the road and strike a nearby house.

    Fortunately, none of the students or other people on the bus were injured, police said.

    The driver of the SUV was injured and treated on site by medical personnel.

    Authorities did not provide further information on the extent of the driver's injuries or whether charges will be filed as the investigation continues.
