Police find body after incident out of ‘fear for well-being’

A body was found in Banbury following an incident caused by “fears for people's welfare”, police confirmed.

Thames Valley Police vehicles were spotted near Swan Close Road in the town before 9am this morning. A police spokesman said officers responded to an “incident out of fear for people's welfare”, adding there was no danger to the public.

Now police have confirmed that a man's body has been found, but have not yet disclosed where the man was found.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to an incident in Swan Close Road at around 7am this morning relating to concerns about an animal welfare offence.

(Image: Oxford Mail) “Unfortunately, on arrival officers found that a man had died. There are no suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

“The man’s next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.”

The area was cordoned off while officers responded to the emergency.
