Touré believes Diddy's “drug haze” led to extreme behavior

Touré speculates that Diddy's drug abuse may have fueled his desire for more extreme freak offs. The music journalist recently spoke to TMZ about his connection to the mogul and their relationship. He explained that sources close to Puffy told him that his actions were fueled by 15 years of “drug abuse” and that this led him to make very questionable decisions.

“Friends tell me he has been abusing heavy drugs for about 15 years,” the journalist told the newspaper. “Anything he gets his hands on separates him from the person he really is.”

“So when you think about it, 'why did you make such bad decisions throwing these parties with so many people to film them,' and saying no when Cassie says we can make this all go away for $30 million – which isn't a lot to him,” he added. “It's because he's struggling with drug addiction and his mind is clouded and he's not himself… It was a fog of substance abuse and that's why he's making these terrible decisions.”

At the beginning of the year, Touré spoke with MSNBC about his relative who landed an internship with Combs. He recalled that things went smoothly for a few months before his family member suddenly stopped working for the mogul.

“I know this guy well enough to call him and say, 'Hey, I need a favor,'” Touré said of Combs. “It might have been 10, 12 years ago when I called him and said, 'Hey, I have a family member I want to hire as an intern.'”

“And then the internship ended abruptly, after about three or four months. I talked to my family members and asked them, 'What happened?' But they didn't want to say.”

While the cousin remained silent for a while about the reason for his departure, they eventually told Touré that they were fired after “spending the night with [Diddy].”
