Kaiser Permanente plans performed best in all regions served

According to the National Committee for Quality Assurance's 2024 Health Insurance Ratings, plans rank among the best in the country for overall care, prevention, equity and patient experience.

In the 2024 Annual Report of the National Committee for Quality Assurance, published in September 2024As of 2014, Kaiser Permanente's private (commercial) and Medicare plans were rated the highest or equal to those of its competitors in all geographic regions served.

More 5-star and 4.5-star plans than any other organization

NCQA examined more than 1,000 commercial, Medicare and Medicaid plans in the United States.

Only 5 health insurance plans nationwide received 5 out of 5 stars. Two of those 5-star plans were those of Kaiser Permanente: Kaiser Permanente's commercial plan, available in the Mid-Atlantic states (Baltimoresuburb Maryland, Northern VirginiaAnd Washington, DC) and Kaiser Permanente's Medicare plan in Colorado.
All of Kaiser Permanente's Medicare plans received 4.5 stars or higher.
Kaiser Permanente’s commercial plans in 3 additional areas — State of Washington, Northern CaliforniaAnd Southern California — received 4.5 stars.

Kaiser Permanente's high ratings are notable considering that only 8% of health plans nationwide receive 4.5 stars or higher. And Kaiser Permanente has more 5-star and 4.5-star plans overall than any other health care organization — for the ninth year in a row.
