Louisville man charged with murder after body found with 'traumatic wounds' in Newburg

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville police have charged a man with murder after a body with “traumatic wounds” was found in a wooded area near Petersburg Park in the Newburg neighborhood.

The body was found on Monday, September 23, on East Indian Trail and Petersburg Road.

Police described the victim as a man of Latino descent, believed to be in his 20s or 30s.

Miguel Andrade Giron, 28, of Louisville, was arrested in connection with the murder investigation. He is charged with murder, desecration of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

According to LMPD, Giron is already being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on other charges and will remain there until trial on the new charges begins.
