Julie Chrisley was re-sentenced in her fraud case after an appeals court found that her first prison sentence had been incorrectly calculated – but not much changed.

A judge in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia ruled on Wednesday, September 25, that Julie's original sentence of 84 months was sufficient. People Reports. The Chrisley knows best The 51-year-old star was in tears as she spoke in court and apologized for her actions and apologized to her children for having to live with the consequences. Daughter Savannah Chrisley and son Follow Chrisley were in the courtroom.

In June, judges on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals concluded that there was no evidence that Julie was involved in the entire bank fraud scheme dating back to 2006.

“After careful consideration and with the benefit of oral argument, we affirm the district court on all counts except the amount of damages attributed to Julie,” the judges said in court documents obtained by We weekly at the time. “The district court did not identify the evidence it relied on to hold Julie liable for losses incurred before 2007, and we cannot independently find it in the record.”

They added: “We therefore vacate Julie's judgment and remand the matter solely to the district court so that it can make the factual findings and calculations necessary to determine Julie's loss, restitution and forfeiture and resentence her accordingly.”

As a result of the ruling, Chrisley's case was sent to a lower court for re-sentencing.

Chrisley's legal team responded to the news in a statement to Us at the time: “The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the conviction of Ms. Chrisley and remanded the case for re-sentencing. While this is not a dismissal of the case against her, it does result in [a] new judgment in accordance with the instructions of the Court of Appeal.”
