Man charged with murder and desecration after body found in park

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – A man faces murder charges after a body was found in Petersburg Park on Monday, according to a Facebook post from the Louisville Metro Police Department.

28-year-old Miguel Giron is accused of murder, desecration of a corpse and falsification of evidence.

He was already being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on other charges.

Authorities said Sixth Division offices along with emergency services responded to an area near East Indian Trial and Petersburg Road, near Petersburg Park, at around 11:36 a.m.

When emergency services arrived, they found a man who had suffered “traumatic injuries.”

There is still no information about what led to the man's death.
