Student charged in threatening incident at L'Anse Creuse High School – Macomb Daily

The Macomb County District Attorney's Office has charged an underage student with making a terroristic threat over a threatening email that led to students at L'Anse Creuse High School in Harrison Township being sent home early Monday, authorities said.

A spokesman for the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that county prosecutors had approved the charges.

The woman was a student at the school, the sheriff's office confirmed

She was arrested within hours of the incident being reported Monday morning at the school on L'Anse Creuse Road in the area of Metropolitan Parkway (16 Mile Road) and Crocker Boulevard. Officers were on school property throughout the day gathering information on the incident.

In addition, Middle School Central, Graham Elementary School and the Early Learning Childhood Center have been placed into external lockdown mode, school administrators said.

Monday's early dismissal scene in Harrison Township follows a similarly chaotic scene in west Warren, where Warren Mott High School was also closed Monday due to an online threat. Mott's homecoming dance had to be evacuated Saturday night when students mistakenly thought the sound of balloons popping for gunshots.
