UFC Tampa adds dangerous UFC veteran to fight card

Only two fights are announced at UFC Tampa on December 15th, both of which are promising.

Shortly after his victory at Dana White's Contender Series, it was announced that Navajo Stirling would face Tuco Tokkos and now UFC veteran Davey Grant will face Ramon Taveras on the same night.

The news was first reported on September 25 by Mike Bohn and Nolan King of MMA Junkie.

Although Grant, from County Durham, has only a 31% knockout rate in 13 professional victories, he is always a good fighter. The 38-year-old MMA veteran has been a part of the UFC since the 18th season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2013 and has taken part in some of the most entertaining fights in the promotion's history.

Grant's last appearance was a controversial decision loss to Daniel Marcos in July 2023, a fight that 12 of 14 media representatives scored in Grant's favor. Prior to that, Grant defeated UFC veteran Raphael Assuncao with an extremely rare inverted triangle choke.

Grant’s “dangerous” style is based on unconventional power hooks and pressure, and his most notable UFC victories include wins over Marlon Vera, Jonathan Martinez, and the aforementioned Assuncao.
