Two students injured in school bus accident in Wyandotte County

EDWARDSVILLE, Kansas (KCTV) – Two students are recovering after being injured in a school bus crash in Wyandotte County Tuesday afternoon.

Edwardsville police responded to the crash, which occurred around 4 p.m. several blocks north of the Kansas River on Beach Street.

At the time of the accident, 17 students from the Bonner Springs-Edwardsville school district were on the bus.

According to police, the bus driver lost control on a curve. The bus veered off the road on its right side and crashed into a tree.

The tree shattered several windows on the bus. Two of the students on board were injured when shards of glass fell from the windows.

The two students were treated for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The students who were on the bus at the time of the accident were either handed over to relatives or transferred to another school bus.
