Chiesa debut and Jones return from injury – Liverpool team news for West Ham

Federico Chiesa, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo have stepped in for Arne Slot's first Carabao Cup game against visitors West Ham tonight.

Liverpool will be hoping for a win at Anfield to defend last year's Wembley success.

The Reds enjoyed this game last time, recording a comfortable 5-0 win over West Ham United in the 2023/24 season.

Arne Slot is aiming for more of the same but has, as expected, made a number of changes after the Reds endured a gruelling schedule since the October international break.

Liverpool have signed Gomez, Endo and Jones for their first appearances of the season in a heavily rotating but still remarkably strong squad.

Federico Chiesa will also make his first appearance for the Reds in the starting line-up. The Italian will be looking to make an immediate impression, as he did in his last appearance at Anfield in a brief cameo against Bournemouth.

Konate and Gravanberch have earned their well-deserved night off, while Salah, Van Dijk, Szoboszlai, Mac All-Star, Robertson and Alexander-Arnold all start on the bench and can be substituted on if needed.

It's a strong bench, but Slot hopes he won't have to use it as he looks to give his stars a rest before another important game this weekend.
