UFC books Petr Yan vs. Deiveson Figueiredo as main event in Macau

A decisive bantamweight fight is coming up at the UFC return event in China.

Former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo will face former bantamweight champion Petr Yan in a five-round main event at UFC Fight Night 248 inside Galaxy Arena in Macau on Nov. 23. A person familiar with the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Wednesday following an initial report from Leo Guimaraes.

Figueiredo also posted about the fight on social media.

Figueiredo (24-3-1 MMA, 13-3-1 UFC) earned his third straight win since moving up to bantamweight when he defeated Marlon Vera in August at UFC on ABC 7. Figueiredo had hoped to earn a title shot against newly crowned champion Merab Dvalishvili, but must first defeat a former champion.

After losing three straight bouts to Aljamain Sterling, Sean O'Malley and Dvalishvili, Yan (17-5 MMA, 9-4 UFC) rebounded in March with a win over rising contender Song Yadong at UFC 299.
