Whiteville man convicted of four counts of drug trafficking

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – On Wednesday, September 25, 36-year-old Johnathan Terrille Jordan of Whiteville was found guilty by a jury of five drug-related charges.

According to District Attorney Jon David's office, he was sentenced to 19 to 24 years (225 to 282 months) in prison and fined $500,000. The charges were:

  • Two cases of heroin trafficking
  • Two cases of opioid trafficking
  • A case of possession of drug paraphernalia

“In June 2022, Jordan was stopped in Williams Township after a Columbus County Sheriff's Office detective observed traffic violations. The defendant was asked to exit the vehicle and a Crown Royal bag fell out of his pants. He told the detective that the contents contained cocaine, marijuana, heroin and pills. Evidence was sent to the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory for testing and the substances included heroin, fentanyl and oxycodone,” the prosecutor said in a statement.
