A Secret Service agent is being investigated for alleged sexual misconduct involving a Harris staffer

A Secret Service agent is being investigated over an alleged incident of sexual misconduct involving an aide to Vice President Kamala Harris, her office said Wednesday.

The agency confirmed to ABC News that an investigation was underway but did not provide any details.

“The Secret Service has the highest standards for its personnel. The employee has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation,” a Secret Service spokesperson told ABC News.

A spokesman for the Vice President's office also did not provide any further details about the incident.

“We have zero tolerance for sexual misconduct. Senior OVP officials have been notified by the USSS of an incident involving an agent and informed that the USSS has opened an investigation. The Office of the Vice President will not release any further information,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
