Family dispute leads to fatal shooting in Longview

LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) – Longview Police have reported the death of a man as a result of a family dispute.

On Wednesday around 2:15 p.m., Longview police officers responded to the 700 block of Ethel Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found a man shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Investigators concluded that the shooting was the result of an argument between two family members. The physical altercation escalated into a shooting. The other family member involved remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The name of the deceased man will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
