Inside Out 2 is now on Disney+: Watch this exclusive clip

Get ready to experience the full range of emotions – but above all joy – in Disney/Pixar’s hit film Inside Out 2 is now available to stream on Disney+.

The sequel broke box office records during its theatrical run and became the highest-grossing animated film of all time, grossing $1.7 billion worldwide. That's about seven showings a day, which is what your kids are demanding now that the film is available at home.

Inside Out 2Arriving nine years after the Oscar-winning original, Riley (Kensington Tallman) catches up with her 13-year-old self, still adjusting to her new life in San Francisco. Now that she's reached her highly dynamic adolescent years, the emotions that live in her head and help her navigate life (Amy Poehler's joy, Phyllis Smith's sadness, Lewis Black's anger, etc.) are joined by more complex feelings, led by Maya Hawke's fear, who claims to know what's best now that Riley is getting older.

The film received an approval rating of 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Perhaps most importantly, Beyoncé declared it in her recent GQ Cover interview.

Inside Out 2 is brilliant: the win Pixar desperately needs

Poehler said that in the nearly decade since the first film, audiences have become even more eager and receptive to the series' exploration of complicated emotions and mental health – especially among young people.

“People were really willing to talk about fear and how it conflicts with joy and what toxic positivity is,” she said. “People have spent the last 10 years really digging deep and talking about their feelings, so it just felt like everyone was ready to meet them where they are.”

To celebrate the fact that you can now watch Inside Out 2 at home on Disney+: The Daily Beast's “Obsessed” features an exclusive clip of the film's cast discussing what movies their characters would watch if they stayed home for movie night.

Poehler's answer to Joy is quick: musicals. “Joy loves musicals, like Singing in the rain And We meet in St. Louis,” she said. Lewis Black's choice for anger—networkwith his insane tirades – is quite appropriate, as is Tony Hale's choice for his character Fear: “He would just go to Care Bear Land.”

Watch the clip above to find out which films Liza Lapira (“Revulsion”) and Paul Thomas Hauser (“Awkwardness”) choose for their roles, and Maya Hawke’s Amy Poehler-inspired choice for “Fear.”
