Pawlet man charged with murder of family members awaiting extradition to Vermont

The man accused of killing three family members in Rutland County is due to stand trial in New York, where we'll likely hear more about when he'll return to Vermont to face charges. Brian Crossman Jr. is accused of shooting his father, stepmother and stepbrother to death in their Pawlet home on Sept. 15. Crossman, 22, was arrested last Friday in Granville, New York. He faces three counts of aggravated murder and is currently being held without bail. NBC5 spoke with Gov. Phil Scott on Wednesday. His office has issued a warrant to bring Crossman back to Vermont. He's very eager to see that happen. “Obviously we need to hear from the prosecutor first, but I actually need to sit down with him to figure that out. We want to get him back as soon as possible,” Scott said. Crossman is expected to stand trial in Warren County on Thursday.
