Men from Sherwood and Conway arrested for child pornography

Officials from Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin's office arrested two men within 24 hours on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material in separate investigations, according to a press release Wednesday.

A cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the arrest of 25-year-old Giovanni Ibarra of Sherwood on Tuesday evening, while a separate investigation led agents to arrest 39-year-old Darien Trigleth of Conway early Wednesday morning, the news release said.

Ibarra, who was charged with creating material depicting the sexual abuse of a young child, is charged in a federal case with production of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography, the press release said.

Trigleth is charged with 150 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing material depicting sexually explicit conduct toward children, the press release said.

“Such outrageous and despicable acts have no place in our society and I will continue to fight to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice,” Griffin said in the press release.

Ibarra was released into the custody of U.S. Marshals on Wednesday to appear in federal court, while Trigleth was being held in the Faulkner County Jail without bail set, according to an inmate roster available online Wednesday evening.
