Wisconsin woman arrested after breaking into house and cooking pasta

Someone has a weakness for pasta.

A Wisconsin woman ended up behind bars after allegedly breaking into a home and having enough time to cook herself a delicious pasta dinner.

As Fox News reported, Madison police arrested Joanna Kelly Lee after officers caught the hungry burglar making herself comfortable in a home she had just broken into.

Police responded to the Madison residence late Tuesday night after the tenant came home and found someone was in the house and all the lights were on.

Authorities said Lee greeted officers at the door and insisted she be allowed to enter the home after identifying the resident by name, Fox reported.

“Lee gave a detailed account of how she had previously met the resident at a cafe and received the keys to the house,” police told the outlet. “Lee was in the house long enough to cook herself a dinner of shrimp and noodles.”

The resident refuted Lee's statement and told police that she was a stranger and had never been given permission to enter her home or eat her food.

As Fox reported, investigators later determined that Lee had fabricated the story after searching the resident's mail.

Lee was charged with burglary and trespassing and is being held at the Dane County Jail in Madison.
