Mel Gibson brought two dates for the special screening of his Monster Summer Film in Los Angeles, his youngest children Lucia and Lars.

Gibson, 68, was all smiles as he posed on the red carpet with his 14-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son on Tuesday, September 24. The actor wore a navy blue suit with a white shirt and matching pocket square.

Lucia wore a strapless red dress, strappy heels and a clutch as she stood next to her father. Lars was a mini version of Gibson and wore dress pants and a white button-down shirt. Both Gibson and Lars wore black sneakers with their smart outfits.

Lucia and Lars are two of Gibson's nine children, most of whom have remained rather low-key despite their famous father. Gibson shares Lucia with ex Oksana Grigorieva and Lars with his girlfriend Rosalind Ross.

Gibson is also father to daughter Hannah (43) and sons Christian (42), Edward (42), William (38), Louie (35), Milo (33) and Thomas (25), whom he shares with his ex-wife. Robyn MooreMoore, 63, and Gibson were married for 28 years before divorcing in 2011.

After splitting from Moore, Gibson dated 54-year-old Grigorieva. The couple split in April 2010 after more than a year together.

After giving birth to his and Grigorieva's daughter Lucia, Gibson gushed about fatherhood. “She's so cool. It's incredible. It's full of wonder… and I'm not a young man anymore,” he said Extra in November 2014 and noted, “It's my second daughter. I get a chance to do better.”

Gibson said at the time that his best advice for good parents was: “Listen to them.” He joked: “I mean, they actually tell me what to do.”

That same year, Gibson began dating 34-year-old Ross. In the fall of 2016, the couple announced that they were expecting their first baby. Lars was born in January 2017.

Milo has now spoken about the collaboration with his father and tells The Hollywood Reporter The best advice Gibson gave him was to ignore all cameras.

“Something that has stuck in my mind [that my dad told me] was to stay true to your character when working and imitate him as much as possible and of course have fun,” he said in 2018. “Forget that the camera is there. They say the camera is your best friend, but I find it most helpful to forget that it is there, because if you are aware of it, you are not being honest about what you are doing.
