One person arrested in connection with threats against Porterville Middle School

A girl was arrested after making threats against a middle school in Porterville, police say.

On Tuesday, Porterville police, in conjunction with the FBI, investigated a threat posted on TikTok regarding school shootings.

Porterville Police officers further investigated the threats and were able to identify the social media account and the juvenile responsible for the threats.

According to police, officers contacted the girl at home and arrested her.

According to police, the girl was taken to a juvenile detention center.

The police would like to reassure the public that the safety of students, teachers and school staff remains their top priority.
