Mille Lacs reserve deputy arrested, charged with child pornography – ABC 6 News

(ABC 6 News) – A reserve deputy with the Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office is behind bars.

Just last week, the Mille Lacs County District Attorney's Office charged 28-year-old Tyler Pettit with four counts of distribution of child pornography.

Mille Lacs County Sheriff Kyle Burton immediately commented on the arrest on social media.

“I preach transparency and practice it, and I hold people accountable, even when it's our own people that work here. I thought it was important that as sheriff, I hold you accountable, especially if you're someone who has represented this office before,” Burton said.

Pettit is now free on bail and is scheduled to appear in Mille Lacs County Court again next week.
